Paraplanner (Part or Fully Qualified)
Location: Lancashire
Salary: Around £34,000, depending on experience and negotiable
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
NJR Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established financial planning business in Lancashire who are looking to appoint a Paraplanner to join their technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is either fully or part qualified with at least 12-18 months Paraplanning experience and who is keen to continue developing their technical career within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
As a Paraplanner, you will provide technical support across the wider business, with responsibility for carrying out detailed research, analysis and report writing to support Financial Advisers in delivering suitable and compliant advice to clients.
You will work closely with the Technical Team Leader, Compliance and other departments to ensure cases are progressed efficiently, accurately and within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
" Interpreting adviser client files to understand client needs and adviser instructions
" Translating client requirements into clear and accurate Financial Planning Reports
" Carrying out appropriate research and analysis to identify suitable providers, products and investment funds
" Liaising with the Technical Team Leader to keep them updated on work progressing through Paraplanning
" Working closely with the Compliance Team on cases requiring pre-sale authorisation
" Preparing Financial Planning Reports within agreed timescales
" Ensuring reports are accurate, professionally presented and of a consistently high standard
" Checking spelling, composition and technical detail within all reports
" Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within the Paraplanning log
" Liaising with colleagues across the business to obtain information and resolve queries
" Managing multiple cases and prioritising workload effectively
" Working towards agreed internal deadlines and service standards
" Supporting the wider team with additional duties as required by the Paraplanning Manager
" Taking responsibility for ongoing personal development and maintaining required performance standards
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience working within a Financial Planning environment and will ideally have at least 3 years' experience within financial services, including 1 to 2 years' Paraplanning experience.
You will have:
" Achieved the Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or be within 1 to 2 exams of completion
" A good understanding of the UK financial services regulatory framework and relevant legislation
" Strong technical research and report writing skills
" Excellent written and verbal communication skills
" Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
" Exceptional attention to detail
" Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
" The ability to work effectively as part of a team
" The ability to progress cases under the guidance of a Technical Team Leader
" Strong organisational and time management skills
" The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
" The resilience to work effectively within a fast-paced and demanding environment
" A high level of professionalism and strong ethical standards
Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous if you have:
" Experience giving and receiving constructive feedback
" The ability to assess situations from different perspectives
" A confident and persuasive approach when presenting facts and technical information
" Experience working towards Chartered status, or a genuine ambition to work towards Chartered in the future
