DESCRIPTION
My Client is a leading supplier of apparel to the leading high street and supermarket and online retailers, working with factories in Turkey, China, India and Bangladesh.

A permanent position has arisen for a Garment Technologist at their busy head office in South Manchester.

Duties of the job will include the following:

o Responsibility of working with a number of retailers - aiming for a right first time approach.
o Creating workbooks/ specs for costings and buying samples
o Requesting of sealing samples and initial patterns, from offshore manufacturers. Measuring and checking of garments, internal approvals where necessary samples fitted with retailers in person or over VC, and sending comments out to the factories.
o Working closely with the factories to ensure that the product meets Retailer & Legal requirements, and necessary risk assessments are carried out.
o Administration of the critical path
o Submission of final production samples and relevant documentation.
o Creating print patterns on Optitex for the design team to set up print packs
o Working on Optitex 3D to create patterns for design and development

About you:

o We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team, with a positive attitude.
o Confident and clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with manufacturers, retailers and within the office environment.
o Someone who is well organised and flexible, with a logical and analytical mind, and excellent administration skills
o Someone who works well under pressure, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
o Full driving licence is essential.
o Knowledge of 3D software, ie Optitex/ Browzwear/ CLO, would be advantageous, training can be provided
o 2-3 years' experience in a related area
o Willing to travel to retailers for fittings.

Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to draft a basic pyjama pattern from a garment spec (please note they do not use pattern blocks) detailed information and equipment will be provided to carry out this task.
