Bookkeeper (Part-Time)
Ramsbottom
2 Days per Week (15 Hours)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys working independently, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting business operations with reliable financial information.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, ensuring all financial data is accurate, up to date, and compliant with UK accounting standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
2. Manage accounts payable processes
3. Perform bank and control account reconciliations
4. Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements
5. Process payroll accurately and on time
6. Support month-end and year-end processes
7. Prepare management reports and cash flow forecasts
8. Liaise with external accountants during annual accounts preparation
About You
1. Minimum 3+ years\' bookkeeping experience within the UK
2. Strong understanding of VAT and payroll processes
3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
4. Excellent organisational and time management skills
5. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
6. Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
1. Experience within an SME environment
2. Strong working knowledge of Sage Accounts and payroll software
3. AAT qualified (or equivalent experience)
4. Experience preparing management accounts
