Our client is a leading supplier to the retail sector in the UK, who now have an excellent opportunity for an Account Manager to join their friendly team.

A proactive and commercially focused Private Label Account Manager responsible for developing private label ranges on an FOB basis. The role involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships, taking ownership of the process from concept through to delivery, and driving profitable growth across key accounts.

The Private Label Account Manager ensures consistently high service standards, manages seamless communication with customers and internal teams, and leads effective cross-functional coordination to deliver successful outcomes. This role contributes directly to business performance through strategic account development, operational excellence, and strong commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, building and maintaining strong, long-lasting relationships.
Deep customer understanding, range architecture, commercial expectations, and competitor activity.
Support the National Account Manager across strategic customers as required.

Strategy, Planning & Business Growth
Create and lead customer strategies based on in-depth market, performance, and customer insight.
Identify opportunities for account growth, including range extensions, cross-costing opportunities, and new product proposals.
Review lost opportunities and propose continuous improvement actions.

End-to-End Process Management
Drive the end-to-end processes to ensure that the customer critical paths (CP) is managed and delivered on time
Collaborate with Design and Product Development teams to provide clear commercial direction aligned to customer strategies.
Lead and manage the pre production process, ensuring all CP milestones are achieved on time.
Manage and track the order process, ensuring accurate and timely updates for all stakeholders.

Communication & Documentation
Arrange, attend, and document all customer meetings, ensuring timely follow-up and delivery of actions.
Produce professional customer documentation, proposals, and data packs with high accuracy and attention to detail.
Gather information and updates from internal teams (Design, QC, Merchandising, Accounts, Warehousing) to maintain clear communication with customers.

Operational Delivery
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure critical path dates are met.
Accurately complete customer required forms, cost sheets, submissions, and compliance documentation.
Maintain visibility of all risks, delays, and issues, escalating internally where required.

Experience required

Strong supply chain background with progression into commercial or account management roles.
Experience working with major UK retailers and/or supermarkets.
Solid understanding of Far East manufacturing, including cost structures, lead times, and MOQs.
Confident in building and managing customer critical paths.
Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in costing and margin analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Skilled in leading customer and supplier meetings.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the wider Office suite.
Experience within bedding, soft furnishings, or ceramics (advantageous but not essential).
